It’s
art that’s fun to make and a treat to eat! Best
of all, it’s a way to play with your food! In
place of paper, paints and crayons, Nosh Art
uses cookies, candies, and other fun treats to create holiday memories. Nosh Art offers children
and adults a creative and innovative way to connect
to the holiday through sight, smell, touch and taste.
In 1984, Deborah returned to the United States after
living in Israel for two years. To her dismay, that December, she found New York bakeries selling gingerbread Hanukkah houses. She immediately recognized the need for Jewish children to
have beautiful holiday treats that are true to Judaism. So she created Jewish edible art for family and friends. At their urging, in 2003 Deborah
began teaching holiday classes at Jewish community
centers and started writing a how-to holiday edible
art book for families. In 2005, Deborah formed Nosh Art, Inc. and
created her first edible-art kit, the Munchy Crunchy
Menorah.
Over the years, Deborah’s holiday designs have
grown to include edible masterpieces that celebrate
Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, TuB’Shevat,
Lag B’Omer, and Shavuot, designs that everyone
young and old can have fun creating at home, at
school or anywhere.
Deborah also designs projects based on stories from
the Bible and for other special events such as Bar/Bat
Mitzvahs, birthday parties, anniversaries.
